Anthony Davis – Head of Human Resource – Atlanta Bread Company International – Bake One

Anthony DavisOptimistic, Energized, Resourceful, are just a few words used to describe Anthony Davis; however at the end of the day he is truly a servant leader. Originally from Miami, FL, Anthony is a graduate of Florida A&M University where he studied Public Relations/Communications and Public Administration.

Anthony always possessed a strong leadership thrust, throughout his collegiate matriculation which granted him the opportunity to serve in several leadership roles.

Anthony joined Atlanta Bread Company International/Bake One in 2015, as VP, Head of Human Resources. In this capacity he has oversight of all aspects of human resources strategy and execution for both company’s, to include compensation and benefits; talent acquisition, assessment, and development; organizational design and effectiveness; and diversity and inclusion. His main focus is to ensure that both ABCI/Bake One talent and business strategies are fully aligned with the needs of the company and its clients.

Prior to joining ABCI/Bake One, Anthony served on the HR Leadership team for Domtar, Inc., a fortune 500 Montreal-based manufacturing company with over 10,000 employees that produces fiber-based products, technology and services. His responsibility was to the corporate function of the US and Canadian organization.

Anthony’s previous experience also includes serving as a Regional Human Resource Business Leader for Novant Health a $4 billion dollar, not-for-profit integrated healthcare system of 15 medical centers and 1,123 doctors in 343 clinic locations, outpatient surgery centers.

Novant Health’s 27,000 employees and physician partners care for patients and communities in North Carolina, Virginia, South Carolina and Georgia. Anthony began his HR career as the Head of Human Resources for the City of Tallahassee Housing Authority where he led the HR organization and was responsible for the creation and implementation of talent strategies as well as led successful cultural initiatives.

Anthonyhas a diverse network and believes in community involvement; his board and community affiliations include the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), VP, Membership & Engagement and Board of Directors (National Association of African Americans in Human Resources – Atlanta Chapter), a graduate of Leadership Tallahassee (Class 28), Member 100 Black Men of America, Inc. The Open Book Foundation (Board Chair) just to name a few.

In 2005 Anthony created ACD Event Planning Solutions, LLC, and through ACD events he produced a community event titled “Tallahassee’s Got Talent” this vocal talent showcase provides a platform for local artist to make a joyful noise through song and showcase their musical talents in a non-traditional arena. Little to his knowledge, this event spanned its reach nationwide with contestants throughout the Southern and Mid-Atlantic region(s). This event provides a cash prize of $1,000 and recording studio time for the winner; as well a portion of funds raised from this event is provided to deserving students through scholarshipthat live in public housing developments.

Anthony is noted to be a remarkable young man full of great intellect, integrity and infectious enthusiasm. Like so many who know and admire him, he is one many can set their compass to navigate as an example to gleam both in a personal and professional realm by his work.
